Iridium Messaging Transport® (IMT) provides customers small to moderate-sized IoT messaging through Iridium CloudConnect and offers industry standard protocols, programming, message topics and Pub/Sub capabilities through a wide range of Iridium Certus™ modules. IMT is the future of IoT for satellite communications.
Key Advantages
Along with IoT, IMT is ideal for data that do not require a persistent connection, such as machine-to-machine, and over-the-top (OTT) applications like email, group communications, weather forecasts, and other transactions.
Transfer
- IMT transfers data through closed-carrier networks and dedicated, secure private connections between Iridium and AWS.
Authentication
- IMT uses cross-account authentication. A simple script creates the necessary infrastructure for Topic queue sets.
Private Queues
- Topic queue set queues reside in the customer’s AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environment.
Coverage
- Leverages Iridium’s truly global network and AWS’s redundant infrastructure and support.
Secure
- Uses a dedicated, secure, private connection to directly connect Iridium to AWS.
Easy Upgrade
- IMT is a simple server-side shift for customers who already use Iridium SBD with Iridium CloudConnect and allows data ingestion regardless of underlying over-the-air and ground systems technologies and protocols.
