Cobham Explorer 710 Portable Inmarsat BGAN Terminal
The all-new EXPLORER 710 provides on-demand streaming rates at 650 kbps out of the box. As the world's smallest Class 1 BGAN terminal and the first to take advantage of Inmarsat's new streaming service (High Data Rate), the EXPLORER 710 will deliver high-speed, ultra-portable satellite streaming for broadcasting and other IP-based industry applications. The EXPLORER 710 includes several advanced new features, including plug and play bonding - simply connect two EXPLORER 710's and double the throughput. Continuing the tradition of technology leadership started when the EXPLORER team introduced its first BGAN terminal in 2005, EXPLORER 710 introduces several advanced new features. Uniquely, it has the ability to bond the signals from multiple EXPLORER 710 terminals via Ethernet to achieve IP streaming rates of 1 Mbps or even higher - closer to standard definition broadcast quality.

Use your smartphone / tablet to connect, monitor, control the terminal as well as turning your smartphone into a satellite phone. Make and receive calls from anyone. Download the iPhone or Android app. Make calls simultaneously with an Internet connection. Does not degrade Internet service since calls are connecting with a different "regional" beam.
The Explorer 540 M2M BGAN Terminal
As the world’s first BGAN M2M terminal designed to operate on both Inmarsat BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) and cellular 2G/3G/LTE networks, EXPLORER 540 delivers always available connectivity for critical monitoring and control applications.
The BGAN M2M service uses Inmarsat BGAN to provide a reliable, global, two-way IP data service. It is designed to connect monitoring and control applications in remote, unmanned locations, providing visibility and management of those assets. By combining BGAN M2M with cellular connectivity in the same terminal, EXPLORER 540 gives users the opportunity to choose the best carrier for any location.
Dual Mode BGAN M2M
The EXPLORER 540 is the only Inmarsat BGAN M2M terminal to offer dual mode operation, which provides unique flexibility and M2M data communication cost-control, as it ensures the most cost- effective communication service can be chosen depending on location.
Securing continuity of M2M IP data transfer, which often originates in hard to reach, remote locations, dual-mode operation delivers significant failover capabilities with automatic switching between BGAN and cellular networks.

A new way to connect
EXPLORER 510 is focused on wireless connectivity. It harnesses the power of the new EXPLORER Connect App, which turns your Android and IOS smartphones and tablets into powerful satellite communications tools. When it comes to setting up you can be online in minutes using your own wireless devices. The USB host allows wired connections to the terminal and the optional EXPLORER LTE dongle, so you can use local cellular if available and switch to BGAN when needed.
Whether you're reporting the news, exploring for natural resources, doing commercial or government business or helping people in emergencies, EXPLORER 510's high quality voice and broadband up to 464 kbps offer the performance you need to carry out your work in the field. At 200mm x 200mm x 50mm, EXPLORER 510 is smaller than a standard laptop and weighs less than 1.4 kg. An external powered antenna is available to support long RF cable runs for temporary or permanent fixed-site installations. The Hughes 9211-HDR enables users to send and receive IP traffic via Ethernet and/or 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, including voice or fax via a standard telephone connection. It is all IP-based and offers Class 1 background IP or selectable, dedicated Quality of Service (QoS) levels.
Inmarsat’s BGAN HDR service network now offers new and higher streaming rates. The Hughes 9211-HDR supports the highest streaming rates available (above 650 kbps) for transmitting video and other critical data from the field. Asymmetric streaming rates are supported, enabling users to better tailor the service to their individual preferences and minimize cost.

The Hughes Low Profile BGAN (LPB) modem and antenna provide the user with reliable, remotely controllable satellite connectivity over the Inmarsat BGAN network. The LPB modem delivers exceptional low power consumption (< 1 W idle) for off-the-grid installations. Both modem and antenna are IP-67 rated for outdoor use and can also be installed below ground-surface for inconspicuous operation. A thin layer of dry, non-metallic material over the antenna is permissible during TX/RX operation.
